Cap Fréhel Lighthouse

The first lighthouse was in use in 1702 but only in the winter months. In 1717 the navy instructed that the lighthouse must be in use the whole year. A second lighthouse was built in 1840. During the second world war this lighthouse served as observation post for the Germans. In august 1944 the lighthouse was destroyed. The third and current lighthouse was built in 1946 and in use in 1950.

Ploumanac’h Lighthouse

The lighthouse was built after a petition from the local population because of the number of shipwrecks. In 1860 the first lighthouse was finally built with buildings for the lighthouse keepers. In 1944 the lighthouse like many others was destroyed by the retreating Germans.

Triagoz Old Light
